I have a DL380 (dual 733) with RomPaq version of 12/18/2002
I am trying to get my array controller configuredand can't seem to make it happen. I am using a few version of smart start and they don't seem to help. version 6.4, version 5.0 and version 4.80 no help at all. version 6.4 states invalid hardware config, and version 4.8 and 5.0 when it accesses the floppy disks the array utility comes up but then it states there is not array controller or drives.
What is the best way to get my array configured??
Peace
Rick

Solution
Hello Rick,
Without going into too many details I would like to know if this is a fresh install?? If that's the case and no data is involved then the only thing you need to do is boot the server with Smart Start 5.0 and run system erase. Once this is done then you will be prompted to reboot the server. Before you reboot the server just swapp the position of the first HDD with any other in the system. Now cold boot the system with Smart Start CD and select the assisted method of configuration.
Please let me know the outcome.
Regards,

Re: DL380 Array Configuration
Yes this is a brand new or fresh install, I will try as you suggested and then repost.
My goal is to have to raid 1 arrays with 4 drives.
2 x 18 gig
2 x 26 gig
with the 2 18 gig drives being my systems drive.
Peace
Rick

Re: DL380 Array Configuration
The latest SmartStart CD you can use with that server is 5.5
The versions above that are for a different hardware platform.
