DL380 G3 STOP tcpip.sys Blue Screen

Can anyone help with the following. I have 7 DL380 G3s running W2k SP2 and all 7 seven reboot regularly with the following blue screen message:
Blue Screen Trap (BugCheck, STOP: 0x000000D1 (0x00000004, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0xBFAF2174))
Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal
The file stated is tcpip.sys

There are no messages in the event log preceding the reboot, they were built with HP smartstart 6.10.

Thanks

Re: DL380 G3 STOP tcpip.sys Blue Screen

You may need to re-apply the network teaming driver:
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/softpaq/sp16001-16500/SP16407.EXE

Take a read of: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;302400
Enjoy!

Re: DL380 G3 STOP tcpip.sys Blue Screen

I have updated the servers with the latest NIC and Teaming drivers from Compaq and the problem still occurs. I have also reapplied SP2.

Re: DL380 G3 STOP tcpip.sys Blue Screen

try use W2K SP3 (and better make sure that you have a slipstreamed installation directory -installation starts with SP3- see for this KB of Microsoft).

Re: DL380 G3 STOP tcpip.sys Blue Screen

Hello,

I having the same problem in a DL580-G2.
I have change the mother board and two times the network card, and the problem is the same.
(BugCheck, STOP: 0x000000D1
(0x31327972, 0x00000002,
0x00000000, 0xBFB57285))
in tcpip.sys.
The ethernet switches are Cisco 6500, and SupportPack from HP is 6.30a.
I'm using SP3 with some pre-SP4 fixes to W2K.
Do you have any new about this problem?
I simple question, do you use a Backup from CA - ARC Server, BrightStor, etc..?

Re: DL380 G3 STOP tcpip.sys Blue Screen

Hello,

I'm having exact the same problem with two DL360 G3 servers. I already reinstalled the servers without smartstart, but it didn't solve it. The servers are installed with SP3. Is there any more news about this problem?

Re: DL380 G3 STOP tcpip.sys Blue Screen

I have resolved the problem in my customer changing both processors (2), server is working well from 15 days.
I have check that problems was processors, because when I put the old processors the problem appear again.
I don't know the root cause, but I have seen that MS Windows dump can confuse a lot our investigations.

Re: DL380 G3 STOP tcpip.sys Blue Screen

Believe I may have the same problem on 1 of 2 ML350's. Both of which have run fine since install in January. However, one has now started to reboot following a blue screen trap (BugCheck, STOP: 0x000000d1 (0x0F7AC5014,0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0xF5CB2C58))

The machines were run without smart start initially and this was only installed along with Insight manager some time after the problems started (we thought we may have a temperature problem and wanted to monitor the CPS and system temps). I have installed W2k SP4 but problem persists.

Only recent changes are the replacement of old 3COM 10/100 hubs with 3COM 100Meg Switches.

Any ideas greatefully received.

Thanks.

Re: DL380 G3 STOP tcpip.sys Blue Screen

I have had much the same problem for some time on ML530s, but my 380s have been fine. Eventually tracked the root cause to be the Insight Manager agents.

Are you using IM? If so, try removing the agents - obviously you will not get the remote system info, but unexpected restarts and BSOD seem to go away!
