DL380 G4 and Windows 2008

I need to know if my DL380 G4 will run Windows 2008 OS. After researching the matrix it is not listed specifically but there is a listing of factory installed 2008 OS. I see articles talking about putting the OS on these servers but nothing stating it is supported. What is the official stance from HP on this server and OS combination? Thanks for any input.

Hi Charles,

That OS is not on HP's list of supported OSes for the DL380 G4 and the server is also missing from Microsoft's list of certified known working hardware for Windows 2008. I would advise using another OS or server.

Drivers and software for 2008 present on the drivers page for the DL380 G4 appear to consist of primarily 2008 drivers for hardware components that are also compatible with other model servers, so it's not likely HP has written any specific 2008 drivers for this model server.
