DL380G5 HP Smart Array P400 RAID 1+ 0

It has 3 drives of 146.8GB, one marked as "S" and 2 drives marked as "X". [S] Use one drive as spare. What one gets If RAID 1+0 is selected, what kind of redunduncy one gets?

Re: DL380G5 HP Smart Array P400 RAID 1+ 0

raid1+0 with only two drives is simplified to raid1, one mirrored pair. raid1+0 really makes sense with 4 or more drives but there are no separate options in the array tool.

Re: DL380G5 HP Smart Array P400 RAID 1+ 0

Hello,

HP use the same notation for RAID 1 and RAID 1+0. If you use only two drives, the Smart Array will build a RAID 1, with four or more drives, it will build a RAID 1+0.

so it is just RAID1 when only two drives.
