DL580 G3 win2003EE and KB896727

Well
I have DL580G3 with 4x3Ggz(1Mb cache) 8Gb RAM in 4xDIMM 1Gb
I install windows2003EE with HP CD assistanse all seems to be OK
then i install SP1 - reboot - all OK
but when i install security updates from microsoft.com, after reboot system hang to the blue screen.
I reinstall OS and see that system hang after KB896727 update
what can you say about this situation?

hi,

what was the error stated in the System log for event viewer for that patch or any other error before it rebooted?

i am running wk2003 sp1 and had no problem with that hot fix.

ok i have a large server segment >30 servers on win2003 and 12 Unix servers
I hav'nt any problems with hotfixes on that servers. I use WSUS to paste hot fixes.
but this is the first 4 processor and 8Gb ram server wich runs win2003 in PAE mode

I have'nt any ideas about it.

about event log
i did'nt write error codes 8-\
but naw when i install sp1 and KB896727 i can'nt load explorer!

To manually configure your computer so that the installer will install both the security updates and the hotfixes, follow these steps:1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
2. Locate and then right-click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
3. Point to New, click DWORD Value, type QFEInstalled to name the registry entry, and then press ENTER.
4. Right-click QFEInstalled, click Modify, type 1 in the Value data box to assign the registry entry a value of 1, and then click OK.

Note A value of 1 for this registry entry forces the installation of the hotfixes that are included in the cumulative security update.
5. Install the cumulative security update.
