Drive Replacement
I have a G7 server with iLO 3. It is showing a bad drive but how can I monitor the pulling, relacing, and rebuilding of the RAID array without rebooting it? It is not a Windows box.

Re: Drive Replacement
The G7 through ILO 3 doesn't have detailed info on the array status, like ILO 4 does, it just shows the drives and whether the drive itself is okay.
You can at least see if the new drive is okay using ILO. Otherwise, to see the status of the array rebuild, I can't think of any other way unless you had some agent software on whatever OS you're using, if available. What operating system are you using?

Re: Drive Replacement
If you are running Linux, you can use the HP Array configuration utility command line (hpacucli). You can use it to show status, make changes, turn on drive LEDs, etc. Very handy. I know it is in SPP. Should also be able to find it by itself.
