Error detecting tape media
Hi,
Currently i have a ML570G3 with Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition installed. I did a windows asr backup using a HP DAT72i internal tape drive and created an asr diskette. When i tried recovering the OS using the asr method, i was able to start up the asr recovery but when it prompted for inserting the media into the tape drive, it seems the media could not be detected and i've ensured i inserted the correct media. Hence my asr recovery failed. Could it be due to the missing drivers for the tape drive?
I realised when i did a fresh OS installation using the HP smartstart cd, OS is successfully installed but under "device manager", there's a question mark icon on the HP tape drive and i had to install the drivers manually.
For the above error i encountered, is it possible to install the drivers for the tape drive before i begin asr recovery? In which i press F6 to install 3rd party drivers (the tape drivers files .cat, .inf, .sys, .oem) when i started to boot from the OS cd.
Pls advise. Thanks.
