Error with processor
I have a proliant 1600R server. the problem i am having is the first processor slot is not working. when i remove the processor and add it to the second slot i can see the slash screen; however, i am getting an error that is saying "processor in wrong slot". I know that I do have it in the wrong slot but i need to know if there is a switch setting that i can change to get it to boot from the second processor?

Re: Error with processor
Corey...
No switch setting that would allow using the second slot only. You would need to replace the MotherBoard if the slot is truely bad.
Have you tried erasing the CMOS (Switch 6 I think) and putting the processor back in slot 1 and booting up. It is possible that the CMOS "thinks" the CPU is something else???
