BTW: Joseph no point's assignment needed at this point, we not completely sure if that would be case where it can be completely ignored.

I took your suggestion and bought a used Compaq Smart Array RAID, 158855-001, 16MB chip off of Ebay. You're correct it's a ML370 1st Generation and Beige. Besides sticking the this RAID chip in the motherboard. Could you possibly point me to some documentation for me to study to set this hardware raid up, as well as the monitoring software to install this correctly. I want to do this correctly,the way it's suppose to be done.I have decided to back the whole enchilada up and restore the data once the correct Monitoring software is installed for this hardware RAID. TIA.

Install RAID Chip, if you not done with firmware run additionally Firmware CD any of 7.x (same link for smart start 5.5)

First step run Erse Utility when HDD connected to Array Controller
1. http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/17918.html
2. Run F8 from POST to configure Array (ROC should be at 1.50 firmware) and SCU http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/13227.html
3. Or Use Smart Start CD there will be choose of Manual Install it will install F10 Partition and than launch ACU (Array Config. Utility)
4. When System Partition and Array Configured you can run direct O/S Install
5. After O/S Installed run PSP 7.30 it will install all COMPAQ stuff
