HP R5500 XR UPS
This is a quick question about replacing the batteries in the R5500 XR UPS. I have a unit that needs the batteries replaced but i don't want to have to power down everything to is attached to this unit. I have looked through the manual and the unit is completely hot-swappable. But i have noticed that on the back of the UPS there is a breaker for the batteries(manual says "Battery Breaker"). The question i have do i need to flip this breaker before swapping the batteries or do i just remove them? The manual said just remove them but nothing else. is this the case or do i need to something more?

Re: HP R5500 XR UPS
hi
just follow the procedure from here
http://bizsupport.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00065453/c00065453.pdf
page 36
the step number one is optional in case you want to power off the whole UPS which you dont want
(optional) To replace the component with the UPS powered down, refer to "Powering down the UPS
(on page 30)."
so there is not need to breaker
I hope this can help you
