Help to get BIOS for ML370 G5
Hello,
I m not a pro, I am just a Linux enthusiast, I got a ml370 g5 from "trash" , I fixed it, It's working, I just only need one fw, the bios FW SP73053.exe at :
but when I try to get it, a pop up window ask me for license, I don't have one, I don't get why, it's an obsole product...
I am using it at home, as NAS server and DLNA server...
someone can help me or have any idea how to obtain it?

Re: Help to get BIOS for ML370 G5
Most BIOS firmware updates require a valid warranty or service contract. The exception is security and/or bug fixes are provided to everyone. You can look through the revision history for one you can download

Re: Help to get BIOS for ML370 G5
last firmware is about 2015
it containt mtigations for spectre and meltdown, so it's for all! but isn't so
check link in the first post, I can't afford to pay a license or warranty contrac, if it still exists in 2018 for a very old server G5 generation, I use it only for home purpose as I wrote (DLNA and NAS)

Not sure exactly what the last ROM released fixed, but I don't think it was spectre or meltdown as those were not discovered and updated until this year. You can try calling support and argue your case. I did quote the terms wrong, I said bug which isn't listed in the terms..
https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c04044353 The exact wording is:
“Critical” related firmware updates (addressing safety and security fixes) will be made available to all ProLiant customers outside of a warranty or support contract and are governed by "customer terms of use"
Looking throught the spectre meltdown release notes, I don't see mention of G5, some G6 servers are not covered as Intel did not release new code for the old processors.

Re: Help to get BIOS for ML370 G5
Hello,
you are correct, I am not
I checked the first page I have posted, about BIOS download :
1) checked history as suggested from someoher, previous bios is about 2011, and I already have it
2) you are correct, no spectre and meltdown issues, 2015 BIOS version, but issues discovered from blackhat con
3) I can send and email to HP, but I think they will answer me like a robot, they will give me a link to FAQ page about licencing, I am not a company
4) I am a normal user, not a sys admin, server come back from trash as home server... I will try to ask them, but maybe I thoght bad, I could get it from somehere here, so I aked here, maybe anyone can dowload it and send to m(e with a valid licence) it's just less 3 mb...
anyway, thank you for answering
