Hpe Windows Server How to add disk to existing raid1 partition?

Hi. everyone

I have a question, I ask

After configuring 2 x 500 giga disks on the Hpe server as raid1

I divided the 250gb/250gb partitions and made it an os/data area.

But I am trying to add capacity to this data area

Bundle 2 1tb disks into raid1

I want to add a volume to the data area to make it 1.25tb, is that possible?

I have a question that seems strange to do something with partition expansion.

OS is winserver 2019 and array card is p408i-p

I will write it as a comment to find out. thanks you

Re: Hpe Windows Server How to add disk to existing raid1 partition?

Hello,

Frist,

If you add 1TB HDD in existing raid 1 (500GBx2). Existing Raid 1 will except only 500 GB space from the 1TB hard disk.( not except complete 1TB space)

HPE Smart Array SR Gen10 Configuration Guide ( Follow the page no#80) for more clarifications.

Expanding an array

You can increase the storage space on an array by adding physical drives. Any drive that you want to add must meet the following criteria:

It must be an unassigned drive.

It must be of the same type as existing drives in the array (for example, SATA or SAS).

It must have a capacity no less than the capacity of the smallest drive in the array.

Follow the below link only for your reference. ( This is for P840) but you can follow with the same hard disk capacity.
