HyperV on Proliant DL380 G4
Hi,
I have a question regarding your support description below
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=110&prodSeriesId=397634&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=397634&objectID=c01452454
You mention there two scripts but unfortunatly you do not explain how to get these scripts.
Now my question:
Can you please let me know hoe and where to get
HPVirtualOSE.exe
LHBL.vbs
Thanks in advance
/Martin

Re: HyperV on Proliant DL380 G4
hi
that's "only" for Preinstalled System with W2008 As it says there
that's why reference the the address below that's for Preinstalled Systems only
D:\Sources\$OEM$\$$\system32\
the thing why you get that message is because your Dl380 G4 does not support Hyper-V it supports Windows 2008 but not Hyper-V

Re: HyperV on Proliant DL380 G4
Can anyone explain why the DL380 G4 will not run Hyper-v? THe motherboard supports hyper-threading, DEP on or off, and the procesor looks as it too will run hyper-v.
The weird thing is ESXi 3.5 update 2 will run off a USB memory stick on the same server. Both have the same system requirements as above.
Thanks

Re: HyperV on Proliant DL380 G4
You are confusing Hyper-V; Microsofts Virtualization product for Windows Server 2008 and Hyperthreading; a hardware feature of Intel CPU's that creates two virtual cpu execution threads on a cpu core.
In order to use Hyper-V you need a CPU with Intel VT-x instructions which are the Core2Duo's and the recent 64bit Xeons.
The CPU's in the DL380G4 are 32bit Xeons which as you correctly say, have Hyperthreading.
