Installation Windows Server Proliant 1600

I am attempting to install Windows Server 2008 on a Proliant 1600. The process is interrupted very quickly with the error message:

Status: 0xc0000225

stating that the BIOS is "not ACPI compatible"

Re: Installation Windows Server Proliant 1600

Dont even bother!

The Proliant 1600 is about 15 years old now.

Even if you did get it running it would be far too slow to use...
Find a much better server to run Win 2008 on.

Minimum specs are here...

Re: Installation Windows Server Proliant 1600

I realise that the 1600 is old, but the only critical component is the CPU.

In any case I still want/need to try this, so I would please like to hear of any workarounds for this problem (ACPI thing).

Re: Installation Windows Server Proliant 1600

There might be a way of fooling the install by picking Windows 2000 in the Smartstart setup.
See below...

But I wouldn't hold out much hope I'm afraid!

Re: Installation Windows Server Proliant 1600

That did not work unfortunately.
The firmware is P08, which, AFAIK, is the latest for the 1600. Is there correct?

And: are there any other suggestions?
