ML370G5 Server

I have an older application that does not handle dual NICs well. It only requires one LAN connection. It gets confused by the second LAN connection. It works fine if I uninstall the second LAN connection but only if it is uninstalled. My problem (besides the OLD!! software) is that on a restart the server re-installs the LAN connection and we have to uninstall the LAN connection all over again. Is there any way to totally uninstall the second, unneeded NIC so that it does not reappear after a restart?

Why not disabling?

Hi Steve,

What operating system are you using, and how are you uninstalling the LAN connection ?

I am using Windows2000. The application still does not work correctly with the second NIC disabled, it only works if the second one is uninstalled. Not sure why but have tried to disable and it doesn't work like uninstalling does.

I'm using the device manager to uninstall. The NIC disappears in the device manager but it is 'greyed out' in the LAN Connections screen.
