What is the maximum hard disk size supported for a DL380 G1 with the P17 BIOS?

Keep in mind that the Quick Spec presented by Prashant is dated December 5th, 2001. 146GB and 300GB drives were not out at that point.
It is likely that with a firmware update to your Smart Array (maybe not even necessary), 146GB and 300GB drives would work without a problem.
What OS are you running on the box? and how uptodate is it with the Proliant Support Pack?

Thanks for the pointers. If we can use 72G drives, that's more than enough for our current purposes. 146G and 300G would be overkill.

Problem comes when due o some reason we call HP for support then they say no and tell us, that is not supported.
But yes above post is correct it will work with higher capacity disks also
