NO POWER TO PROLIANT 3000

Help! I just took down my 3000 to see why my tape drive would not be recognized and now the system will not power up again. I've retraced all the connections, re-seated all boards, power suply looks good, have disconnected everything except the drive cage. All I get is a flicker on the processor board (300mhz) LEDs and about a quater turn on the read processor fan. Help?!?

Re: NO POWER TO PROLIANT 3000

If you have the older model (the one that has the processors plugged into a processor board) there is an interlock at the corner of the cabinet. If the cover plate is removed, the unit will not power up and will show the symptoms you have described. You can fool the interlock by using a screwdriver to close the microswitch.

I have a hunch that you are trying to test the server with the cover removed.
