Nic Identification Problem

I have some new DL380 G5 servers to setup so I used the HP SmartStart CD to install Win2003, the problem is after the installation, Win2003 detected NIC1 as "Local Area Connection2" and NIC2 as "Local Area Connection 2". I tried the OS setup twice on two different servers and I got the same result. Updated firmware, but same results. And when OS job is deployed from HP RDP, it shows the mac address of the LAN2 which is not in the network, rather than taking the NIC 1 mac.

As anyone seen this problem with DL 380 G5

Re: Nic Identification Problem

Hi Rider,

it's a known issue and it happent on more HP servers.
You could just rename adapters.

Re: Nic Identification Problem

Smart start is 8.0, and the Agents version in RDP in 7.9. It did not fix my issue. I am still not able to deploy the operating on it. It fails to connect the RDP via PXE. Yes Predrag,i got some information on this saying known issue. But problem now i am not able to deploy the operating system on it from RDP. Idenification and mis-match in mac-address.
