No power down after shutdown (re-installed Windows XP)
This Compaq Presario 6621AU doesn't power down after Windows XP is shut down. The screen goes blank and the monitor goes into standby mode as usual, but the Presario power LED stays on and CD-ROM drive LED flashes.
Restarting in this condition requires that the power button be held down for 5 seconds to turn the unit off properly before pressing it again to start it up.
This behavior started after I replaced the hard drive and re-installed Windows XP Home OEM (including SP1).
Any clues?
Cheers
Stephen

Re: No power down after shutdown (re-installed Windows XP)
I would suggest you post your issue in the Microsoft-XP forum, or the Business PC forums. This forum is for Proliant servers only.
