PCI Card on a Proliant ML-150 & Bios Setup
I am trying to install a new PCI Card on a New Proliant ML-150 G3 Server.
Since the Server comes from the factory with a low resolution VGA port connected to the motherboard, the Video Card Manufacturer recommends that the primary display adapter should be set to PCI on the system BIOS.
Unfortunatelly, the bios does not show any option to make this kind of change.
Could you share some thoughts about this ?
Sincerely,
Robert.

Thank you for your response.

Any Ideas.?

Re: PCI Card on a Proliant ML-150 & Bios Setup
after you power on the system, are you able to see the POST messages?
I mean: there is the VGA signal?
bye.

Re: PCI Card on a Proliant ML-150 & Bios Setup
I'm back.
Furher to your question about POST Messages, & VGA Signal, I am able to see the boot up, F7, F8, etc. messages, and the Windows NT logo after a long time delay, then the screen freezes on the logo.
Should I proceed with the swapping of the PCI card from the PCI slot to the PCI-X slot ?
Robert.

Re: PCI Card on a Proliant ML-150 & Bios Setup
if you arrive to see the windows logo it is not a matter of PCI-X slot.
should be correct the one you used too.
may be the setting of the vga card.
the resolution or the refresh frequence.
Have you tried to start windows in "safe mode" and load the appropriate driver or set the minimal resolution in order to re-boot the system and configure the vga card?
which type of vga card are you installing?
let me know.
