Problem with battery of Smart Array 6402

I have a Proliant DL580 G2 with Windows 2000 server. In the post an in the viewer of S.O. show the following error: "1206 Drive Array Aceleration Battery Failed". i updated the firmware of the Smart Array 6402 but the problem is not resolved. I need to know what part i must replaced

Open up the server and locate the array controller. It will have a component that looks like a memory chip with a battery attached by a clip. If under warranty HP will send both pieces the memory module and the battery, if its not then replacing the battery should suffice.

There are known issues about it:
Fixed an issue where the battery status may be falsely reported as â failedâ even though the cache module is â enabled.â Refer to Customer Advisory EX040528_CW01

Perhaps you can also update the rom.

In theory this should work, but in real life it does not. I just replaced 2 6402 controllers after upgrading the firmware to 2.34, and the error message was still there a week later. I have a rack full of servers all giving the same message

Never had problems with it.
I have over 500 server under my maintance, I have seen the problem on i guess 4 or 5 machines.

All of them fixed with updating the firmware.

Interested and strange that you have the problem on all of you servers?
Al bought the same time?
