Problems with DL165G7 using controller set to RAID
Have DL165G7, model 590259-001, DVD+/-RW 481047-B21, two SATA 1TB 7.2K HDD 454146-B21, Hot Plug Adv Pack. TC421A. Latest bios sp50413.exe. Using B110i Sata RAID controller. In bios if I set SATA to RAID 1 + 0, then easy setup cd v 1.10 29April2010 does not recognize the DVD as valid installation source when assisting with OS installation. If I boot off of Windows 2008 w sp2 32bit DVD and attempt to add Sata Controller Driver 6.14.0.32 dated 5 October 2010 from usb stick it keeps saying installing but never progresses. Any other bios settings needed to make this work? Any tricks to get the driver added during the OS installation? Do I need a different hard drive back plane? Any help appreciated. -Chris

Re: Problems with DL165G7 using controller set to RAID
Hi
You can use nlite software, which is free download to integrate any driver or/and sevice pack into the OS media. Hope it helps.

Re: Problems with DL165G7 using controller set to RAID
The suggestion of using NLite to create a windows install with the drivers present is interesting. Nlite doesn't list Windows2008 as a supported OS. Do you know if it works?
Thanks for the suggestion.
-Chris.
