Product Name in DL370 G6 BIOS
Hi to all the gurus, not sure if you can help out on this:
When I boot into the BIOS of DL370 G6 and straight away one can see the product information on the left hand column,
I saw the product name indicated as "ML370 G6" instead of 'DL370 G6' with the correct serial number.
Is this normal?
I understand that mechanically, DL370 G6 is a rack based server whereas ML370 G6 is a tower based server. Not sure if they are sharing the same BIOS
Thanks and Best Regards.

Re: Product Name in DL370 G6 BIOS
Dont worry about the prod description, both ML370/DL370 G6 boards ( 491835-001 ) have same spare part number ( 491835-001) that is why you see ML370 G6 and yes that definitely means they share the same bios.
It is normal
Thanks.

Re: Product Name in DL370 G6 BIOS
How did this actually happen in the first place?
The other thing is there any way to change the product name?
I mean, if I am a customer, I would have thought that the wrong product was shipped to me.

Re: Product Name in DL370 G6 BIOS
Hi,
Good question about this product name.
I am guessing that if you update DL370 G6 BIOS that should change the product name.
Other wise, I have no clue to change this product name manually.
I work for HPE.

Re: Product Name in DL370 G6 BIOS
Hi Suman_An, I have tried. But it still remains the same...
Functionality wise, are there any issues?

Re: Product Name in DL370 G6 BIOS
No change in functionality wise, it is just that DL will be rack based and ML will be tower based server.
