Proliant DL 145

Anybody out there, who has succesfully installed Windows Server x64 Edition on an Opteron DL145 Server?
I know it┬┤s a beta-trial-version! I know there is a x64 beta Customer Preview Program!

During the installation I got a bluescreen after "Installing Start Menu Items" near the end of the OS installation.

Next reboot:

Re: Proliant DL 145

I haven't tried it yey, although I am going to do it in a couple of days on a DL360 G4 (Intel Nocona).

I don't know if you've seen this :
http://h200001.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00235042/c00235042.pdf

which came from this web site
http://h71028.www7.hp.com/enterprise/cache/80326-0-0-0-121.aspx

The technical, paper has a few tips, so it's probably worth looking at. But I didn't see any major troubleshooting areas that had your problem. If you're in the CPP, you might try popsting your question on their web support forum at:

Thanks,

Re: Proliant DL 145

Hi Doug,

thx for your answer.

I├В┬┤ve seen this whitepaper.
I├В┬┤ve posted my question although in the CPP-web-support-forum.

It seems like nobody else have tried to install x64 on a Proliant server.

Let me know about your experiences with dl380g4 nocona-server!

Re: Proliant DL 145

I have installed it successfully on 2 DL360 G4 servers without a major problem. The only funny thing is that at the very end of the installation - when it is Saving the Configuration - it kind of stops responding on me until I remove the installation CD.

That just may be an error on my part, but I don't recall ever being instructed to remove the CD. As soon as I pull the CD out, it finishes saving the config and then everything seems to work fine.

This probably doesn't help you much though....
