Sounds like an incompatibility between your switch and your cards. What switch are you connecting to? How long is the cable run between server and switch? Have you tried updating your switch firmware?

The switch is a Cisco Catalyst 2950T.

Oh and the cable run is only about 15ft. And no I haven't updated firmware on the swtich. The switch is about year old.
