Proliant Environment Variable Jumper

I recently came into possession of a Compaq Proliant 3000. It's running Windows XP Professional, and it has a password I can't get around. The server was bought at auction, and sat in my cousin's garage for several years until he gave it to me. I downloaded some PDFs from this site, and downloaded the SmartStart v5.5 ISO, but when I run SmartStart it tells me I need to remove the "Environment Variable Jumper".
What is that, and how do I remove it?
The server has a Pent. II, 300 Mhz chip and 500 Mb of RAM. It has all 8 Hot Swap drives, but I think one of them isn't working, and it won't recognize the mouse. (It also gives up an error message about there being to much memory when I start it up.)

Re: Proliant Environment Variable Jumper

The Env.Var. Jumper is the Lock Configuration Switch. Who would have guessed?
Now I need an operating system. I've heard Fedora 10 will install into this server. Any ideas?
