Proliant ML350 G5 - CPU-support

Hello.

When going thru the spare parts listed, the ML350 G5 would support the X5460 but not support the X5470 CPU.

The latter is supported by ML370 G5. Does the ML350 G5 support the X5470 as well ?

Regards

Re: Proliant ML350 G5 - CPU-support

The ML350 G5 has the potential to run the 120watt processor kit, but the fact that HP left it off the quickspec makes me wonder if the system had issues with the steppings (notice they also left off the X5450)

If I read between the lines here, you have a set of these processors already in hand.  It would be a quick lab test to install them and "see if it will boot"; then keep it in the lab for an extended bench test to see how it does under load.

If you do not already have these in hand, then why risk the potential damage to the box and a hit in the budget for a few extra MHz...?

Enjoy!
