Proliant dl380e G8 System Power Fault Detected
Hi. After approximately a year of functioning correctly, my server no longer boots up, and the iLO reports System Power Fault Detected as the error.
The error code is (XR: 10 00 MID: FF 7D BC 29 F9 F0 00 11 11 00 40 3F 04 00 00 00 96 00 F0 0F F0 43 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00)
Can someone decode the error? I have tried cleaning the board using WD contact cleaner (there was some dust on it), and a different, known to work power supply, with no difference. I have also tried removing the RAM and all attached PCIE devices, again to no avail. My guess from the system is that there is an issue with the power delivery to one of the systems, but not being able to keep the motherboard powered up makes it harder to check the voltages.

Re: Proliant dl380e G8 System Power Fault Detected
Hi,
It appears to be PCI riser board or drive backplane fault.
Please remove PCI riser board and check if server is powering on, if does not work.
Disconnect drive backplane cables (Power cable and SAS Cable) and check the status.
Hope this helps!
Regards,
Sudhir

Re: Proliant dl380e G8 System Power Fault Detected
Hi @sudhirsingh , thank you for the response. After trying what you said, the system still won't boot, but the error code changed to:
(XR: 20 00 MID: FF 7D FC 3D FB F0 00 11 11 00 40 3F 04 00 00 00 96 00 F0 0F F0 43 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00)
Any other suggestions?
