RAID array - adding to

We have the following configuration in our RAID array of wide-ultra SCSI drives (beige with maroon handles):

Bank A (configured as drive F: (16.9GB)):
1x 9GB 1"
2x 9GB 1.6"

Bank B (configured as Drive E: (23.3GB)):
3x 18GB 1"

Therefore, we have a 1" slot spare in Bank B. Can we simply add a new 18GB HD to bank B? Will that expand our current 'Drive E:' or will we have to treat that as a separate drive to our configuration?

Thanks for your help.

Re: RAID array - adding to

it depends on which array controller you have..some support expansion some dont..you can always add the drive but if the controller does not support expansion then you cannot add it to the existing array..you could always create another one though
We are here for a good time, not a long time!
