The device, \Device\ScsiPort4, is not ready for access yet.
I have these intermittent errors in my system eventlog on NT Server. They errors all happen on the servers that have external tape backup devices. The backups for the most part finish but rarely report successful with arcserve. I've SSD the boxes in question but still cannot clear the error. Any ideas? Here is the error:

Re: The device, \Device\ScsiPort4, is not ready for access yet.
Where is this external tape drive plugged into. Is it plugged into the on-board scsi port or does it have it's own scsi controller card? Is there anything else on the scsi chain?? If it's the on-board go into the F10 partition and have a look at the scsi bus speed of where this device is plugged into. Try setting it to SCSI-2 compliant. Save and exit and see what happens.
