What is the function of the Unit ID LED and switch at the back of the ML370?

Does it automatically lights up?

It's just to help you identify what machine you're working on. Imagine a server room with a few dozen servers. Via Insight Manager you can set the Unit ID LED to quickly identify a machine you'd like to do something with. Or imagine a rack filled with "pizza box" servers. In stead of counting the 7th from above - or was it the 8th? - you just switch it on at the front, walk to the back of the rack, and Aha: that's the one I need to disconnect.

suppose you have 10 server in rack,you operate someone in front of rack,if you want to operate the same server in back of rack,just press UID button,the front and reae light is lights up t, avoid do something wrong.

If you can not find right server on phisycal so You can on UID light from ILO service also through web,
