adding extra NIC to hp proliant dl180 g5
I need to add an extra NIC to my HP Proliant DL180 G5 server.
Could you help me where can I add it?
The other problem is, I have 4 SAS hard disks. I need to add 1 estra SATA disk. does it degrade the speed and perfomance of my SAS disks?
Thank you.

Re: adding extra NIC to hp proliant dl180 g5
The question regarding the additional SATA disk is mainly dependant on whether you plan on making that new drive part of the existing array. If you are planning on doing this then it will cause all of the other (SAS) drives to perform poorer. If you create a new array with a new logical drive it should not cause any issues with the SAS drives.

In order to install an additional PCI card it will require the riser actually be removed from the server to install the additional card.

second question
if you controller supports both Types of HDDs won't be any performance issue
