array configuration
hello
I am having a problem expanding an existing logical drive in array 4200
I create an array with 3 disks in raid 5
I read in user guide of array 4200 that this controller support array expention & logical drive expantion.
I expand the array - add forth disk to the array
and then click on the logical drive after finishing expanding the array
and chose the option to expand the logical drive and then I got a massage the the controller does not support logical drive expansion

Re: array configuration
hi
thank you all but I already find an answer
the problem was my "Array configuration utility" installing from smart start 4.90 with I 2.50b.
there was prabebly problem with win 2000 and logical drive extension so they disabled this option on this version
so you can uninstall the array utility whith ntssd\setup
and install it again from "smart start cd 4.80" and this should work

Re: array configuration
Did this work?
I don't think it will. I have the same problem trying to add a new disk to a logical drive and Compaq says I can't. They say it's MS problem. I have to backup my data and reinstall everything on the server. You can't add a disk to a logical drive under Windows 2000, however, you can do this under NT 4.0.

Re: array configuration
Upgrading the ACU should resolve the problem .
