installing an IDE hard drive in a proliant 800

I have an 80gb IDE hard drive from an old server (this was used as a shared drive for storing data) that I am replacing with a proliant 800 (dual pIII 500 Mhz).

I am wondering if I can fit the IDE hard drive to the proliant 800?

Will I require any extra parts to allow this?

Re: installing an IDE hard drive in a proliant 800

Hi,

Only option we have that we remove the IDE/CD-ROM and use the IDE/CD-ROM Cable (18 Inch) to connect the id hard disk since the capacity is 80 GB it might give some problem with the space but we can try.

But it is not recomended from HP
