proliant5500 - win2k svr SP4 (driver problem)

Hi all!

i have just loaded win 2k server with SP4 on my server.

However, under Device Manager, i found that the Intel 82371AB/EB PCI to USB Universal Host Controller driver has a problem as mentioned below :

"Your computer's system firmware does not include enough information to properly configure and use this device. To use this device, contact your computer manufacturer to obtain a firmware or BIOS update. (Code 35)"

Could anyone kindly enlighten me on how can i solve this problem?

i don't see any USB port on this server though!

I have a DLT tape drive and Backup Exec 9.0 running smoothly on this server.

Thx in adv!

cheers!

You are correct, then ProLiant 5500 does not have USB in it.

This item is incorectly detecting the IDE controller resources and should not be appearing on the server. It lilely comes from the Microsoft driver being loaded from the service pack updates.

Have you attempted to remove the device from the Manager?
Enjoy!
