serial port on Proliant DL380s
I'm unable to use the serial port (com 1) on my DL380s. I have checked bios, dip switch, os options and can't seem to find the answer. I need to be able to hyperterminal into devices through that port. Can someone please help.
Thanks,
Laurence

Re: serial port on Proliant DL380s
COM1 is available by default. If you're using Windows, can you look in Device Manager and see if COM1 is available?
I use COM1 all the time for UPS management cables.

Re: serial port on Proliant DL380s
I was able to solve my problem. I'm posting the solutions for others to note. If you set EMS CONSOLE (in bios) to remote it will disable the com port. setting it back disabled will solve the problem.
