server ML 150 T G2 : Hot Swap Disk SATA RAID1

I had a problem with a sever Hp ML 150T G2 with SATA RAID Controller and two disk SATA in coniguration RAID1.One day a disk failed and i replace it (with another same disk) with server power on.The rebulding process do not correct finished and i have called HP support.
and the tecnical support have changed the disk failure.The technician has said to me that this HOT SWAP disks do not have to be change with server power on.Is just true??

it's not an Hot Swap RAID contoller.

But.
If I change a failure disk with server poweron
I don't rebuild RAID 1.
Where can I found information about this situation?
The disk mounted is (hot plug) but if i change it, the raid don't recostruction

may be youo have a "bay" to extract and insert your HDs,
but the controller it's not "hot-swap".
so you if you wanto to change a failed Hd and rebuid the raid one, you have to do the operation "off-line".
with the server switched off.
the rebuild process will start when youo power-on again the system.

other inforation more than the quick spec, I haven't.
