Controller 642 ERROR

When server (ML350) booting i get this

ERROR! ADAPTER MALFUNCTIONING !

ERROR! ADAPTER MALFUNCTIONING !

SLOT 5 HP SMART ARRAY 642 CONTROLLER

it continue to boot OS , but OS dont work as it should be working.

I have raid system on this server , is this problem whit raid or controller die ?

Is there a scsi controller or only the 642?
If the card is seen during POST,boot off the firmware cd and update the firmware.
