Secure path for Linux AS 4

Hi we have a MSA1000 with DL385 connected through Qlogic FC cards.

I couldn't find the secure path for Linux AS4, according to a ITRC thread secure path has been discontinued and we need to use the multipathing feature of Qlogic. the thread address is

Please guide what we need to do,we have two device paths and single LUN is visible twice.

Shalom,

QLOGIC multipathing is built into the base installation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

If you have two paths to the disk, via two fiber connections, you will be able to utilize this for failover or load balancing with no special changes or add in software.

But the point e.g. when i present a disk from the MSA it is visible twice in Linux.

How to takle this situation so that i can see only single path...

because if I create mount point through one path other will not be able to do failover in case of any problem as we have not created mount points throuhg that path.

How this is going to handeled.

Thanks for your help. I managed to solve the problem through a wonderful document.

Basically it is the Buil in Qlogic feature to manage multipahing. And it is done with the help of very few commands.

just follow the document and you will be able to perform this. please see the attached.
