iLo Firmware 1.70 NIC Status
I upgrade the firmware on 2 of our DL380 G3 Servers from 1.41 to 1.70. Normally we don't plug in our iLo's, we just use them to power up the server when power comes on (for when they turn off due to no battery on the UPS).
Now the NIC status on the servers are showing failed for the ilo cards. I know there is a option to disable the NIC, but then we have to reboot to turn it on (in case we need to make changes).
Is there anyway to disable this? Or can I even downgrade back to the older firmware?

Re: iLo Firmware 1.70 NIC Status
Tom-
I would not recommend downgrading. If you do decide to downgrade, you would need to insure you clear the iLO NVRAM after the downgrade. Otherwise, you could experience odd behaviors. To clear the NVRAM, you can use the iLO RBSU to set the iLO back to factory defaults.
To turn the iLO NIC interface off, you can use an HP developed utility on the server. The utility can be found at the following link:

Some example scripts for the utility can be found at this link:

This is assuming you are running windows.
Regards,
James.

Re: iLo Firmware 1.70 NIC Status
I modified the sample network script to just disable the nic and it worked fine on both servers.
Now I need to learn how to use the rest so I can save time setting up the ilo cards!
