Alert When Total Number of Events in High
Guys,
Had an interesting situation over the weekend where SIM went down. Root cause was it had exceeded the maximum number of events allowed and also, my SQL Express instance had reached the max allowed size for the DB. I managed to get the system backup up and found that I was getting flooded with generic events. I identified a couple of systems (3rd party) that ha been setup to send events to the SIM servers and removed them as their MIBS wouldn't' register with SIM and also, I dont particularly want to monitor them with SIM! :))
It got me thinking though, is it possible to create a n alert when the totoal number of events exceeded say, 400,000?
