How do i get hp-sim to report important event viewer logs via sim to email
I'm constantly getting a server power reset message from hpsim when someone is cycling a server but i don't know who, unless i see my event viewer logs on the server itself.. I'm not sure if hp-sim reports event viewer messages as a trap. I was hoping that hp-sim would report the important event logs such as critical system/application logs from event viewer as a trap on who re-started the server or if there is a crucial application or system error. Can this be done ?or do I need special mibs Or is it that hpsim can only see things on a hardware level and cannot read event viewer logs. Our operatin system on all our servers is 2008 r2
if the answer is no then is there another free hp tool that can do this ?- Mark as New

The agents will not report this kind of activity. You could use Snare or a product like that to report on it.
