Re: Intergrate HP SIM with Active Dierctory ?
This way I don't have to define each user that would require access to HP SIM.

Re: Intergrate HP SIM with Active Dierctory ?
- log on sim and go to Options/Security/User and Authorizations.
- Go to Users tab, click on new group.
- Give the group the same name as the one you have in AD, say SIM Users
- In the Domain field, type the netbios name of your AD domain, even if I don't think it is really used.
- Set the rights of the group
Now the group in question must be granted the right to log on remotely on the server using GPEDIT.MSC
In my case, I have created a local group on the server running SIM (My computer / Manage..), granted this group the right to log on remotely with GPEDIT.MSC and made the AD group I want member of this local group.
When a member of the AD group will log on SIM with his AD user credentials, an account (same name as the user AD account) will be created in the SIM users list with the same rights as the SIM group it is member of. But the user name will be displayed in italics to make the difference with the user accounts created in SIM manually.
Hope this is clear enought
Regards.
