Pointing HP SIM 5.0 Sp3 to new Database (DB)
Hi all,
i have a project to move the current HP SIM install and it's database to new servers (Both are running on old DL380's, the new servers are G3's)..
My plan was to: Build a new SQL Server, migrate the DBs over to that, point the current install of SIM to the new SQL Server.
1st question: How in detail do i do that ? Just through the ODBC settings? Are there any other files i need to alter?
Then, i wanted to build a new server, install the lastest SIM 5 on it and point it to the new SQL server's DB.. To make sure all scripts, reports, tasks et al are running and happy.
I need to rename the new SIM server to the old servers name (i have a lot of references to the name).. Any issues you guys could point out??
Many thanks !

Re: Pointing HP SIM 5.0 Sp3 to new Database (DB)
I have, but the PDF only talks about moving a MSDE to a new SQL DB. Not pointing an existing SIM install (with an external SQL DB) to a new (migrated) SQL DB on a different server. Thanks for bringing it up though.
