Re: serial port console question
Wow. A real VT100? My oldest terminal is a
VT220, and that was made "19-OCT-84". I
haven't seen a working VT100 in years.
Other questions remain unanswered.

_Whose_ "tty services"? What "issue"? You
don't seem to know where the problem is yet.

Re: serial port console question
The problem Description is here:
Can connect to the console via serial port -able to see console messages in there.but could not type anything there - for example Ctrl B should take us to MP - which is not as we could not type anything -
So now tell me the solution

Re: serial port console question
> [...]
Yes, but I was looking for a _useful_ problem
description. "I can't do something" is not
a useful problem description. It does not
say what you did, and it does not say what
happened when you did it.
"[...] could not type anything there [...]"
could mean almost anything, which is why I
tried this guess: "Does that mean that you
hit keys, but you don't see your characters
echoed back?". But I never got an answer to
that question (or others).
I'm glad that you got it working (whatever
"it" was) but you might wish to look at:
http://catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html
paying special attention to the "Be precise
and informative about your problem" section.
