serviceguard and oracle configuration
Hi,
I am new to HPUX and serviceguard specially.
I have an rx2620 (R1) connected to a dedicated MSA1000 (M1) and running 11.23. This server is used for oracle 9i and couple EDI interfaces that do not save any data but just pass data to other systems.
My project is to make Oracle and Interfaces HA with serviceguard.
So I got a second rx2620 (R2) and another MSA1000 (M2)
My plan is:
Clone R2 from a make_tape_recovery made from R1
Mirror boot disks on R2
Create LUNs on M2 identical to M1 and present them to R1 and R2
On R1: Add PVs from M2 to Oracle VG
On R1: MIrror oracle Lvols so data is syncd between both systems
Install MS/SG on both systems
install patches
Configure SG on R1
Move map files form R1 to R2
Configure Oracle Package on R1
Configure package for EDI (scripts) on R1
move them to R2
Please let me know if I am on the right track or missing an important step?
Thank you in advance

Re: serviceguard and oracle configuration
You are Wright.
But in deep this is not the only you have to do.
You must change names, assign IP addresses, change profiles.
I recommend you to take a look to the SG manual Unix integration.
Good luck
Andrés

Re: serviceguard and oracle configuration
The problem is that the oracle data files should be on disks that can be used on either system. The oracle data fails over and moves from node to node as part of the pacakge. YOu dont copy the oracle data to the other system. you setup the oracle package with a volume group that can be accessed on either system but only one at a time when the package starts.
