Hi all!
We use two HP B-series 8/12c SAN Switch BladeSystem c-Class in our c7000 Enclosure. By default, only 12 licenses are available for 12 ports on each SAN Switch. Recently, we purchased additionally we purchased and upgraded another 12 licenses Brocade 8/16Gb FC Switch 12-pt Upgr LTU for each SAN Switch. When I was upgrading licenses on Switch I received recommended warning that I need to Desable/Enable Switch so it taked effect, I did it in both of them. Now, I see 24 licenses and 12 new licenses are available. But, half of switch ports show status port No_Sync and No_Module. Why does it happen? How can I fix it? I will appreciate any ideas. Thanks!
I tried these steps to resolve the issue:
1. Disable/Enable port
2. Changed speed port
3. Release/Reserve license port
4. Rebooted switch
showswitch shows me this:
switch:admin> showswitch
rbash: showswitch: command not found
switch:admin> switchshow

switchType: 72.3

switchMode: Native

Re: HP B-series 8/12c SAN Switch BladeSystem c-Class No_Sync Status Port
Hi
are blades installed and do they have Mezzanine cards in the right place
it will not show that it is working if no blade or Mezzanine
you might also check if license is applied to ports
licenseport --show
or reset a port to default "portcfgdefault "port number""
Regards

SolutionHi,
Thank you for your reply! We resolved the issue. In our case, the problem was on Brocade Mezzanine HBA side on our blade servers. The driver's version was old, and when we updated drivers on the HBA cards, the No_Sync ports became online.

Re: HP B-series 8/12c SAN Switch BladeSystem c-Class No_Sync Status Port
We use two HP B-series 8/12c SAN Switch BladeSystem c-Class in our c7000 Enclosure.
what is the procedure to upgrade licenses for each SAN Switch.
Blade server and san switch restart require? or can we update online without restart....
