Compaq DDS4 20/40 GB DAT Drive does not recognize HP DDS2. Any suggestion?

Hi,

Can you be more specific about which tape drive you're using...?

A DDS-4 drive should be able to read and write a DDS-2 tape, but certain models won't.

For example, the hot plug StorageWorks 20/40 drive can only read a DDS-2 tape, not write onto it.

Hi,

Normally DDS4 Drive should work with DDS2 media.for more details
