Data error (cyclic redundancy check) Compaq 100GB SDLT 4B4B, HP C7980A

We are getting a CRC error every time that we use HP C7980A tapes with our Compaq 100 GB SDLT tape drive. We have upgraded to the current firmware (4B4B) successfully, and we are still getting the errors. When we use the old Compaq Super DLTtape I tapes, the backups work successfully with no errors. We are NOT trying to backup more data than the disk can hold (compressed or non-compressed). We are using the most current version of Veritas Backup Exec 9.1 (Rev. 4691). We are using the most current version of Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition. This has been an issue with a total of all 5 HP tapes so far, so it is difficult to believe that the tapes are defective. The error shows up after different intervals of the write process. Sometimes we will be able to write 30-40 GB, and other times, we receive the error after 5-6 GB. Attached is a word doc with screenshots of our current configuration. Please advise.

Have a look at this:

I guess this case is near to #1, you should contact your local hardware support.
