Hi!
I perfoming a full backup using the fbackup commmand:
fbackup -f /dev/rmt/4m -n -i . -I index.pwd
After executing this command I got the follow warning message:
fbackup(1004): session begins on Fri Aug 23 18:47:52 2002
fbackup(3205): WARNING: unable to read a volume header
fbackup(3024): writing volume 1 to the output file /dev/rmt/4m
Is this something that I need be careful??
After this message the backup started normally.

Solution
Hi,
The volume header error message (3205) means that the last time the tape media was used it was not in 'fbackup' format. It could have been tar, cpio or even a new tape. The second part of the message (3204) means that 'fbackup' is writing it's header information and starts the backup.
HTH
